SPRING: The average temperature for March is 47.4°F, which is 5.2°F above normal—the month ranked as the warmest such month on record (since 1977) and the warmest since 2003.  The month was also the 6th consecutive month and the 2nd consecutive month with above-normal temperatures.  There were only 5 days with below normal temperatures.  There were not any days with maximums of 32°F or lower.  There were 22 days with maximums of 50°F or higher, 10 days with maximums of 60°F or higher, one day with a maximum of 70°F, and one day with a maximum of 80°F or higher.  Temperature extremes included 82°F on the 29th and 21°F on the 2nd.

The temperature averaged 55.5°F for April, which is 4.3°F above normal—and tied with 2008 as the 7th warmest such month on record (since 1977).  The month was also the 3rd consecutive month with above-normal temperatures.  There were 12 days with below normal temperatures.  There were only one day with a minimum of 32°F or lower.  There were 13 days with maximums of 70°F or higher, 2 days with maximums of 80°F or higher.  Temperature extremes included 85°F on the 19th and 31°F on the 9th.          

The temperature averaged 63.3°F for May, which is 0.5°F above normal—and tied with 200 and 2023 as the 13th warmest such month on record (since 1977).  The month was also the 4th consecutive month with above-normal temperatures.  There were 13 days with below-normal or near-normal temperatures which occurred in the 2nd half of the month.  There were 18 days with maximums of 70°F or higher and 3 days with maximums of 80°F or higher.  Temperature extremes included 87°F on the 3rd and 47°F on the 23rd.  

Spring’s temperature averaged 55.4°F and ranked as the 6th warmest such season on record and the warmest since 2023.  The season was also the 2nd consecutive such season with above normal temperatures.

Precipitation in March totaled 4.77 (115 percent) and was .63 of an inch above normal.  The month ranked as the 19th wettest such month on record and the wettest since 2003. The month was also the 2nd consecutive such month with above-normal precipitation.  The month’s snowfall continued the winter trend of below-normal snowfall.  There wasn’t any snow.  The month ranked as the least snowiest such month with below-normal snowfall and the least snowiest since 2024.  The month ranked as the 2nd consecutive such month with below-normal snowfall.  Snowfall was also below normal with 5.3 inches.  The month ranked as the 16th  least snowy such month on record and was the 4th consecutive such month with below-normal snowfall.   There were 9 days with measurable precipitation. The most received in a 24-hour period was .98 of an inch on the 20-21st.  There were 11 clear days and 7 overcast days.  

April’s precipitation totaled 4.11 (105 percent) and was .23 of an inch above normal.  The month ranked as the 19th wettest such month on record and the wettest since 2002. The month was also the 2nd consecutive month with above-normal precipitation.  Mar-Apr. rainfall totaled 8.88 inches and ranked as the 17th wettest such period on record and the wettest since 2002l.   There were 12 days with measurable precipitation and was normal. The most received in a 24-hour period was 1.23 inches on the 6th.  There were 5 clear days and 9 overcast days.  

May’s precipitation totaled 6.64 inches (153 percent) and was 2.20 inches above normal.  The month ranked as the 9th wettest such month on record and the wettest since 2017. The month was also the 3rd consecutive month with above-normal precipitation.  There were 17 days with measurable precipitation. The most received in a 24-hour period was 1.41 inches on the 22nd which was a record for the day.  The old record was 1.27 inches in 2001.  There were only 3 clear days and 15 overcast days.  

The season’s rainfall totaled 15.52 inches and was 3.06 inches above normal (1.25 percent).  The season ranked as the 11th wettest such season on record and the wettest since 2017.  The season was also the 2nd consecutive season with above-normal precipitation.   The period April=May rainfall totaled 10.75 inches and ranked as the 11th wettest such period and the 2nd consecutive such period on record.th.
