WEATHER FACTS:

Maximum temp for Feb. 2 is 57 set in 1988 and the lowest min. is 3 set in 1993.  The lowest maximum is 28 set in 1993. Most precipitation is 1.29 inches set in 1999. Snow is always a possibility in the area in February. However, over the past 33 years on Feb. 2, it only snowed 9 times. The most snow was 4.0 set in 1985. The average highest wind speed for Feb 2nd was 24 mph set in 1979. The fastest wind gust was 33 mph set in 1981. February weather conditions can vary, from warm weather to blizzards with extreme cold. 

The coldest Super Bowl was 1967's NFL Championship game, known as the "Ice Bowl.” The contest, played between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys at Lambeau Field, recorded a game-time temperature of -13 F.

Not to be outdone, the infamous "Freezer Bowl" took place on Jan. 10, 1982, in Cincinnati, Ohio. This AFC Championship Game between the Bengals and the San Diego Chargers recorded the coldest wind chill temperature in NFL history, which stood at -37 F due to the 27-mph sustained winds.
